Speedup Windows Vista’s Startup Time


Most of us would be experiencing the same problem of Windows Vista taking much more time to Boot / Start. Today, I came across the simple, easy and most importantly safe hack for Speeding the Windows Vista Startup time / Boot Time. It is one of the Windows Vista top ranking drawback. Without Wasting much of the time, below are the listed steps to speed up your Windows Vista Boot time :

Steps to Speedup Vista Boot time :

  1. Open Run windows (Win+R)
  2. Type MSConfig and Press Enter
  3. Click on Advanced options button
  4. Check the Number of Processors check box and select the maximum value from the drop down.
  5. Click OK and then Apply and then Click OK again.
  6. Reboot to save the changes made.
  7. You have made your Vista boot faster then ever.

Now, What is the Maximum Value from the drop down in Step 4 ? It is nothing but the number of processors available within your PC. As Most of the latest Laptops and Computers are loaded with dual or even the quad processors, using all the available processors to make vista boot would require less time as the default is usage of only one processor.
