Run System Restore from Task Manager in XP

When Explorer.exe does not work or stop responding you are in need of System Restore from Task Manager in XP. In this post, I have written the problem faced by me, and how to do System Restore from Task Manager in XP. Might be the Case that your Explorer.exe would be Not responding on the start up due to several reasons like, what happened to me.

I tried to install Interent Explorer 7 on the Machine having the Operating System XP Service Pack II. It should work fine, if every thing goes right. but some think got wrong and when system asked for the restart after the installation of the Interent Explorer 7, the Explorer.exe was Not responding and the only funtion which was working was Ctrl + Del + Alt which would open you with Task Mananger.

Here you can try opening the explorer.exe again with the following process :

1. Open Task Manager
2. Click File – > New Task (Run)
3. Type Explorer.exe in the Run Window and
4. If it works ok but if still the explorer.exe is not working

You Need to Restore the System with the Help of the Task Manager in XP:

For that, Follow the Following Process :

1. Open Task Manager
2. Click File – > New Task (Run)
3. Type c:/windows/system32/restore/rstrui.exe in the Run Window
4. Press OK
5. System Restore Window is opened in the BackGround
6. Go throught the process and remember to set the date to restore, when every thing was ok on your system
