Print Portrait & Landscape Pages in Same Word Document | Microsoft Office

There would be some instances in your office, college or school while you make a report or document, which need some pages to be printed in Portrait & some in Landscape for the same document / Report. For Example, you have inserted a excel table which is portrait orientated & rest of your report in word in formatted in landscape, but you want word to print excel table page into the portrait orientation & rest in landscape.  Now the Office Challenge ?

How can you get Word to accommodate both Portrait and Landscape in the same document ?

Normally, when you change the Orientation in Word 2007, via Page layout – Orientation Tab, the print style is set to whole document rather then the specific page. But, how about changing the Orientation of single page and keeping rest as it is ? Yes, you can change the orientation of a single page. Thank Good ! You need to use Page Section Function to do so.,

Steps to Print Document Pages in Portrait & Landscape within Single Document :

Assuming, your Document / Report is in Landscape, and you need to print Table page in Portrait, keeping rest in Landscape.

Enable Thumbnail Preview First
  • Click View Ribbon – Show/Hide – Tick Thumbnail Option
Setting up the Sections in a Document
  • Select the Page from Thumbnail Preview, you need to Print Portrait.
  • Click on Page Layout Tab – Break  button which shows you different options.
  • Click on “Next Break” option under Section Break (In Bold letters)

Print Orientation Single Page Change 1

Above Steps would create a two section report, but this is not enough to change single page print Orientation, repeat the above steps for the page next to the page you have selected for above section. This would create 3 section within your document / report.

Changing Single Page Orientation
  • Again click on the page you need a portrait print orientation.
  • Click on Page Layout Tab – Orientation – Portrait.
  • You are done.

Print Orientation Single Page ChangeIn short, you need to make sections for your document, as Orientation can be applied to whole section only. Hope, this tip on Word Print, comes good while you work for your office, college or school projects.
