One of the major reason, why most of us use Firefox is the third party Add-ons, which enhances the experiences of the web browser to max. Google Chrome, a New competitor into the Web browser War has came out with Firefox like Add-ons known as Chrome Extensions, which enables the users of the Chrome to install the third party Extensions (Add-ons), which would enhance capability of the Chrome along with the Fast Web browsing.

Google Chrome is available for download for users from 3 different channels namely, Stable Channel, Beta Channel & Developer Channel also known as Dev Channel.

Steps to Enable Google Chrome Extensions :

1. Download Latest Chrome (4 & Up) Version via Beta Channel or Dev Channel.
2. If you are already using 4 Version of Chrome, you need to covert it to Dev Channel, for that you need to download Google Chrome Channel Switcher, which helps user to Change the Channel of the Google Chrome installed.
3. Close all the Chrome Windows before this Step. Now, Double Click on the Channel Switcher, Select the Last (Dev Channel) Option & Hit Enter. Need a Chrome Restart.
4. Now Update Chrome via Setting/Options/Update now Button.
5. Click OK & Close all the Windows of Chrome.
6. Right Click on Google Chrome Shortcut on your Desktop or Quick Launch Pad & Navigate to Shortcut Tab within to Edit the Target: by adding ” --enable-extensions" at the end of the URL already written in Target.
7. Don’t Forget to Add a Space & two Hype in Front of the Share ”enable-extensions”, Click OK
8. You have Enabled the Extensions Feature in your Current Google Chrome. Enjoy

Try installing one of the most useful & must have extension for your Chrome –  Gmail Notifier Extension (Direct Download). I Suppose you are already on the Google Chrome, if not Open it on Google Chrome.

You would See the Warning at the bottom of your Chrome as shown in the Image above, Click Save & you get the Popup that you have installed the Gmail Notifier Extensions. See on the Right Top Panel near the Address bar to see a new icon of Gmail Notifier, which provides you with extra features.

You can access the Extension Page from Setting / Extension, which enables the user to see all the extensions installed & even enable them to Uninstall or Disable them via click of the button. The best feature of the Chrome Extension is that it do not require a restart for every extension installed or uninstaller opposite to that of Firefox.
