Couple of days back, Google have shown world about their latest interest area “Operating System” and unveiled their Google Chrome open source operating system known as Chromium OS to world. Few Question, that comes in mind after knowing Google have launched a Operating System includes ; The Questions about Google Chrome OS is what i first thought of & tried to find answers to them from various sites and complied to share with you all.

Here is the Answers to all your Questions. After looking at the screenshot I would like to say that it is a operating system which is combination of Mac OS & Windows 7 in a light package.

Update : Official word from the search giant is that anyone wanting to use the “real” Google Chrome OS will have to purchase a new netbook to do so. You cannot simply download it from the web and install it on any machine. Via Read Write Web

Where to Download Google Chrome OS ?

After exploring all the tech sites I like, found two sources where you can have a working copy of the all new Google Chrome OS. 1.  Download Google Chrome OS VMware Image Via Private bay Torrent (Need a Torrent Client to download) 2. Download it from GDTD (You need to register with them). Apart from OS image, you would be in need of Google Chrome OS Source Code [Download] & VMware for Windows, Mac and Linux [Download] – Forgot to tell you would also require Download Virtual Box

How to Install Google Chrome OS ? via Redmond Pie

1. Download and install the latest version of VirtualBox for Windows 7.
2. Download .vmdk file for Google Chrome OS.
3. Start VirtualBox and click on “New” button.
4. This will start a wizard that will help you create a new VM in VirtualBox.
5. Name your VM “Chrome OS”
6. Select “Linux” from Operating System dropdown menu, and “Other Linux” from Version dropdown menu.
7. Assign your VM some Ram in megabytes.
8. For this tutorial, Redmond Pie have allotted Chrome OS VM 512 MB of Ram.
9. Now Select “use existing hard disk” option.
10. Select the .vmdk file of Chrome OS that you downloaded in Step 2.
11. Click Next and finish the wizard.
12. Click on the green colored “Start” button & Wait for nearly 10 Sec to boot GS OS
