After 2 days of Google Shorten URL Service by Google goo.gl, which according to Google Official Release Note “Google URL Shortener is currently available for Google products and not for broader consumer use” is available for public (Non Google Services via Google Chrome Extension) thanks to great developers. Before I wrote this post, I was able to use goo.gl short URL with only Google products like Feedburner & Google toolbar but now, it can be used by any Applications you like.

There are two Google Chrome Extension available on the Google Official Extension Gallery, which enables the users of the Google Chrome to shorten any webpage URL into Short goo.gl URL to share on various micro blogging sites like Twitter. Lets see the two extensions, which enables users to create goo.gl URL from any page and use the same with Non Google products

1. goo.gl shortener by giakomino : which allows you to shorten the current website URL with the new Google URL Shortener service http://goo.gl/. Once compressed the URL you can copy to the clipboard with the handy copy function & paste the same to any non google product, to be used on Twitter or any other sharing sites. 2. goo.gl url shortener by alexandre@gaigalas.net : which also enables the users of the Chrome extension to shorten their webpage with new Google URL Shortener service http://goo.gl/. But only differences from the giakomino extension is it provide a auto copy to the clipboard for each goo.gl created and enables the users to auto tweet the same. What if you are not using Google Chrome & Need to Shorten the URL via goo.gl, alexandre has also provided the solution for that by launching Web-based goo.gl Shorten URL Service. You can also use the Web-based goo.gl shorten url below, which is created by alexandre@gaigalas.net.
