Twitter – My all time Favorite Social Media Application is Stopping Me to Tweet / Update  ., Please Help Me Out ., Message which Pop’s Out when i tried updating my status on Twitter today at 1.00 PM (IST) was “You are Over the Status Update Limit. Please Wait a Few Hours & Try Again” Below is the Screen – Capture when i tried updating status during a Break time.

Twitter Do Provide Heavy Users with a Special Twitter’s Breaktime, Where U Can Rest, Read Some Twitter Rules, Regulation & Limits

What Did I Do in Twitter’s Break-time ?

Checked Some Limits of Twitter ., Here are they .,

• 1,000 total updates per day, on any and all devices (web, mobile web, phone, API, etc. )
• 250 total direct messages per day, on any and all devices
• 150 API requests per hour
• No limit on the number of followers you can have.
• Every user can follow 2000 people total.
• Once you’ve followed 2000 users, there are limits to the number of additional users you can follow

This limit is different for every user and is based on your ratio of followers to following. When you hit this limit, we’ll tell you by showing an error message in your browser. You’ll need to wait until you have more followers in order to follow more users—basically, you can’t follow 10,000 people if only 100 people follow you

So Well Said by Twitter :

Remember, Twitter isn’t a race to get the most followers. If you follow users that you’re interested in, it’s more likely that legitimate users will find you and read your updates. People follow other users on Twitter to read updates that are interesting to them. Aggressively following and un-following accounts is frustrating to other Twitter users, and degrades the Twitter experience for everyone.

If I hit a limit, what should I do?

If you’ve reached a daily limit, wait 24 hours (or one hour for API requests) and you’ll be able to perform the action again. If you’ve reached a follow limit, you’ll need to wait until you have more followers before you can follow additional users. Follow limits are systematic. Support cannot remove follow limits.

Do your organization / company limit use of the social media at the workplace via restricting or blocking ? Most of the Organization i know personally, limits the use of the social media at the workplace as they have the mindset “Employees are wasting their working hours on Facebook or Twitter. ? If I talk about my own organization, they are blocking most of the social media / email / or video sites, so that we (employees) can concentrate on the work for which they are paid.
