Google Australia previews its new Street View Trike at Taronga Zoo in Sydney. The zoo will be the first location mapped using the new Google vehicle enabling Internet users to view the imagery collected. Google is also looking for suggestions where to send the trike next, with four categories for available for you to submit your suggestion including city life, cultural areas, natural wonders and hidden gems. Google will then select the most original ideas from each category, before inviting Australians to cast their vote for the locations that the Trike will visit.

Google still can’t beat Baidu (One of the toughest competition google have ever faced) in China’s Search Engine War. Market Share Data of the 4th & Final Quarter of 2009 says it all – Baidu with nearly 60% of the market share still is the number one search engine in one of the biggest internet market, followed by Google with merely 38% of the market share, rest 10% is also covered by the other china’s local search engine and only 2% is left for the other search engine like bingo, ask, or any other which might be popular in rest of the world.

The two sides have become locked in a spiralling dispute over Chinese web controls sparked by Internet giant Google’s announcement last week it would no longer obey China’s censorship rules and might pull out of the country. Google said the decision was made after it suffered cyber attacks that Google believes originated in China and appeared aimed at cracking the email accounts of Chinese human rights activists.

In an address, Secretary Clinton did not condemn China, but instead quite reasonably called for the Chinese government to “conduct a thorough investigation of the cyber intrusions.” She wants “that investigation and its results to be transparent.” Hold the laughter for a moment, because this means something.

“We made a strong statement that we wish to remain in China,” said Mr Schmidt in a conference call with financial analysts after Google posted its fourth quarter result for 2009. Google’s stand over censorship has won strong support from the Obama administration which has called on China for an “explanation” over Google’s allegations that China-based hackers attempted to gain access to the email accounts of Chinese human rights activists.

Google have at last heard people voice to start its online storage service via Google Document instead of GDrive (Google Drive) an alternative to the USB Flash Drive to access files on the fly. Google lately, announced  there all time favorite service online storage via Google Document, which would enable the users of the Google Doc to upload all the types of the files including Documents (Text, PDF, Office files) & Photos, movies, music, zip archives which were not supported by GDoc before. Google have also increased the upload limit of the non-support types of the document from 500kb to 250 MB, which is nearly 10 times that of previous supported files.

In a post on the company’s blog, Google Docs’ product manager Vijay Bangaru said that the new size and file type allowances serve to make Docs a replacement for USB drives, allowing users to access their files between computers.

Just like users can purchase additional space for other Google services like Picasa Web Albums and Gmail, users will soon be able to rent space from Google. For standard Google Docs users this will be 25 cents per gigabyte, per year, while Google Apps enterprise users have to pay $3.50 per gigabyte, per year. This feature will be enabled for your account over the next couple of weeks — look for the bubble notification when you sign in to Google Docs. Current limitation of the uploaded files to Google Documents are : Documents (up to 500KB of text) which includes HTML files and plain text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Rich Text (.rtf), OpenDocument Text (.odt) and StarOffice (.sxw). Presentations (up to 10MB) which includes Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps), Spreadsheets (up to 1MB) which includes Comma Separated Value (.csv), Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx) files and OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods). & PDF Files (up to 10MB)

You can also search for document files you’ve uploaded or that have been shared with you just like you do with your Google documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs. And you’ll be able to view many common document file types with the Google Docs viewer.
